Before launching the present business ventures, Ted served as Senior Vice President of Technology for American Tower Corporation. Prior to that service, Ted was Chief Technology Officer for SpectraSite Communications. In that role, technology assets included 13,000 rooftops and 8,000 telecommunications towers, with complex sets of FCC licensee equipment. Ted also served SpectraSite Communications as Vice President, Technical Operations, where he was responsible for product design and deployment, support and expansion, monitoring and metrics for radiofrequency signal transport and continuous improvement of radiofrequency transparency. Ted applied sensor networks using machine-to-machine (M2M) telemetry and monitoring to locate and identify failed communication links in communications systems in attics, tunnels, underground vaults and other publicly inaccessible areas. Examples include Heathrow airport and Gatwick airport, for customers such as Vodaphone, T-Mobile and O2, and Caesar’s Palace, the Bellagio and other venues for customers such as AT&T and Verizon.
