About the Founders

Barb and Ted Abrams, founders of Abrams Wireless, Inc. formed the entity to provide business consultation to industry.   AWI is positioned as an FCC small business Designated Entity to partner with larger investors in future spectrum auctions.  

An alumnus of the Colorado School of Mines, Ted is a professional engineer licensed in many states with special proficiency in Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. He holds two advanced technology patents, one for RF radiation shielding and another for power monitoring and control. Patents pending include an isobaric chiller and a novel utility structure.  Memberships include the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (letter of commendation recipient), Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers, Internet Engineering Task Force, and Radio Club of America.

In related professional assignments, Ted served as Executive Vice President for VTel Wireless at Vermont Telephone, and Senior Vice President / Chief Technology Officer for American Tower Corporation / SpectraSite Communications. His technology purview included greenfield EPC and oRAN development along with oversight for tens of thousands of antenna and radio locations at telecommunications towers, in-building systems and campus environments. In parallel, for eight years he chaired the Technology and Innovation Council at WIA, the Wireless Infrastructure Association.
